AN energy management company in the region is rolling out a new ‘energy-smart’ project across council offices, schools and leisure centres in Wales.
SenseLogix, a smart building technology specialist, which has offices in Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, Chester and Wales provides energy reduction solutions for the public sector, commercial, education and industry.
The firm recently supplied an EnergyLogix system to Gestamp Tallent in Newton Aycliffe, as well as being awarded an energy management project for the head office of Sir Robert McAlpine.
The firm has invested £250,000 in the Wales project and hopes to create more jobs and double in size year on year as a result.
The new EnergyLogix system manages IT and appliances to eliminate electrical waste. The firm secured investment for the project with support from the Welsh Assembly.
It has now led to major energy, carbon and financial savings for Gwynedd Council and will be used in their headquarters in Caernarfon and other regional offices, four secondary schools, one primary school, and four leisure centres.
Data from Arfon Leisure Centre revealed savings of 51% of energy consumed by the equipment controlled by the EnergyLogix system.
