Short -Term Risk Drivers
The downward pressure on gas and energy prices has come to an abrupt end this month, as the market rebounded on colder weather and supply concerns. With a large proportion of Europe now experiencing severe winter conditions the supply outlook has certainly tightened. Lower than normal LNG supplies has added further upward pressure on prices and outlook uncertainty seems to have added a short term risk premium to the market, as traders struggle to find a price direction.
